Enjoyable Boredom...

 At times i wonder, why the word "boring" even exists.It amazes me how often people decide that they are getting bored. In my opinion, the only reason you could possibly get bored is if you actually enjoy it - and if you are really enjoying it so much, could you actually even be getting bored???
  I agree not all people are occupied with much work all the time, but lack of work does not mean that you waste these precious minutes doing nothing but simply telling yourself that you are bored. It's such an insult to the Creator if you find yourself bored when one of the most beautiful and fascinating vistas is constantly accompanying you- the sky..
  Did you ever notice it never is the same any two minutes...once lost , it's lost forever. It's constantly changing from the moment the fiery ball is up ,sometimes there without waiting for the the princess of the night (moon) to set down , to the vast blue ocean-like expanse filled with cotton explosion like shapes, followed by that time when the sky is gradually filled with lucid shades of indigoes and muaves and pinks and oranges (yes that happens even without the presence of a rainbow). And have you ever tried to imagine the position of the Sun in the night sky by observing the way that light falls on the moon to illuminate it??Sure you noticed, but never really thought about it...one was too busy getting bored.
   If even such fascinating beauty fails to entertain you , you are lucky to be living in a country like India where ants are never out of sight. Look closely at them and you can always think of a million possible stories they might be carrying.There might be a historical war taking place right next to your shoe for all you know.
  Or how about trying to imagine the life story of that stranger you see walking down the street...the story of your own life is not the only one remember? What all has he experienced ?? Has he ever loved anyone?? What kind of a person is he? Is he happy with his life?? Where is he going? Why is he going there....there are no horizons to that curiosity. Who knows you may begin to see things that you probably conveniently were earlier ignorant of ...even when they were in front of you all along...
   However, if all of these musigs fail to you, I would love to take this opportunity to remind you of that weapon to kill boredom each creature on Earth is blessed with- IMAGINATION !!
  If you don't have the most interesting sky above, and your ants seem too monotonous and those strangers too blank, well then , just create the most colourful or the most gloomy sky as per your liking. Have ants exclusively belonging to you get married or indulge in a post marriage argument.Make up stories about the people you see if they don't seem to hint you on one. Who could imagine that you may even become an author some day in your innocent attempt at killing boredom....

p.s. -this wasn't the reason that got me writing but it could be for you....that is..if you don't belong to this category of writers already......however....writer or no writer......i would be glad to receive your inputs....be it appreciation , suggestions to improve....or your own perceptions, ideas, and thoughts....feel free to express.....afterall ...it's what this blog is all about....abhivyakti !!
